Junior School
It has been another outstanding period of sport in the Junior School, with students representing OPAC with enthusiasm, determination, and excellent sportsmanship across a range of events. From school carnivals to representative competitions, our students have continued to embrace opportunities to challenge themselves and strive for excellence.
CSSA Netball Gala Day
Our Junior and Senior Girls’ Netball teams enjoyed a successful day at the CSSA Netball Gala Day. Both teams finished second in their pools and progressed to the quarter-finals. Although neither team advanced further, the girls should be proud of their efforts, demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and a positive attitude throughout the competition.
South-Met Zone Athletics Carnival
A total of 59 students represented OPAC at the South-Met Athletics Carnival, competing strongly across both track and field events. Their efforts were rewarded with 15 students earning selection to compete at the CSSA State Athletics Carnival. This is a tremendous achievement and reflects the dedication and hard work of our athletes.
South-Met Zone Football Gala Day
Both our Junior and Senior Boys’ football teams were crowned South-Met Champions, earning qualification for the CSSA Football Gala Day. The Junior Boys finished first in their pool and narrowly missed a place in the final after a hard-fought semi-final. The Senior Boys finished second in their pool and also progressed to the semi-finals. Both teams displayed excellent skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout their campaigns.
K-2 Cross Country
Our K-2 Cross Country Carnival was a wonderful success, with students embracing the challenge with enthusiasm and determination. It was fantastic to see so many students encouraging one another and enjoying the experience. Congratulations to all participants for their effort and positive attitude.
Emmie takes on the Netball Court
Congratulations to Emmie on her selection in the NSWCIS Netball Team for the NSWPSSA Championships. Across three days of competition, she represented her team with distinction and was awarded the Game Ball by the CIS coach and manager in recognition of her effort, teamwork, and positive attitude. We are incredibly proud of the way she represented both her team and OPAC.
Lucas is Age Champion
Lucas has enjoyed an exceptional year, breaking seven records at the Zone Athletics Carnival and earning the title of Age Champion. He has represented at CSSA State, CIS, and NSWPSSA Cross Country Championships, achieved second place in the NSW Athletics Winter Track Series, and was selected for the Illawarra U11 Rugby Representative A Team. His achievements reflect remarkable dedication, perseverance, and talent.
We are incredibly proud of all our Junior School students for the way they continue to represent OPAC with excellence, determination, and sportsmanship. Well done to everyone involved!
Senior School
It has been another outstanding term of sport for OPAC students, with athletes proudly representing the school at regional, state and association events across multiple disciplines.
Minnie-Mae goes to State
A special congratulations goes to Minnie-Mae, who represented NSWCIS at the All Schools Cross Country Championships. Competing against some of the best young runners in the state, Minnie-Mae delivered an exceptional performance to finish 6th overall, a remarkable achievement and a testament to her dedication and hard work throughout the season.
Football Team puts up a good fight
Our Bill Turner Trophy football team also enjoyed a memorable campaign. After progressing through several challenging rounds, the team advanced to the Sydney South West Area Final against Freeman Catholic College. Following a hard-fought contest, the match was decided by a penalty shootout, with OPAC narrowly going down. Despite the disappointment, the team finished just one win away from reaching the final 32 schools in Australia, an incredible accomplishment that reflects the talent, commitment and resilience shown by the squad throughout the competition.
Zone Athletics
The South-Met Zone Athletics Carnival was another highlight, with 80 OPAC students proudly representing the college. The team produced outstanding results across track and field events, finishing 2nd overall in the schools championship. Individual performances were equally impressive, with Violet, Lilly and Indiana each earning the title of Age Champion in their respective divisions. Their success, along with the efforts of all competitors, contributed to a fantastic day for the college.
OZtag Gala Day
Students also represented OPAC at the CSSA 15&U Oztag Gala Day, displaying excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and skill throughout the tournament. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to compete against quality opposition while representing the college with pride.
Basketball Gala Day
Further success was seen at the South-Met Zone Basketball Gala Day, where OPAC teams competed with enthusiasm and determination. Students demonstrated strong teamwork, resilience and school spirit throughout the day, continuing the college’s proud tradition of participation and excellence in sport.
