Learning, Creativity and Community in Action
As we approach the final weeks of Term 2, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the significant effort being invested by our staff in preparing Semester 1 reports. This process is much more than an administrative task—it is a thoughtful and professional reflection on each student’s learning journey. Our teachers are working diligently to provide clear, meaningful feedback that supports students in recognising their progress, celebrating growth, and identifying next steps for continued learning.
This commitment reflects one of our key strategic intentions: to cultivate a culture of excellence in teaching and learning, where feedback is timely, purposeful, and equips students to become increasingly self-directed and capable learners.
A Celebration of Creativity: Our Inaugural Drama Production
Next week marks an exciting milestone for our College as we present our inaugural drama production, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This production showcases the talents and dedication of students from Years 5–11, supported by staff who have generously invested their time, expertise and passion into bringing this story to life.
We would love to see our College community rally behind our students by attending one of the four performances. Your presence not only affirms the hard work of our cast and crew but also reinforces our shared commitment to providing rich, co-curricular opportunities that nurture creativity, collaboration and confidence—key elements of our vision for a flourishing, faith-filled community. You are sure to be entertained and to enjoy this timeless story, whose deeper message reflects the hope of the gospel—sacrificial love, redemption, and the triumph of good over evil—brought to life through the imagination, energy and commitment of our students.
Supporting Students to Navigate the Digital World
In response to the rapidly evolving digital landscape, this year we have established a Digital Citizenship Working Group. This team of staff and students is tasked with designing a comprehensive program that equips our students to engage safely, responsibly and wisely online.
The program is being developed across four key areas—online safety, online rules, the benefits of digital engagement, and healthy online behaviours. These focus areas include essential skills such as managing digital footprints, recognising scams and misinformation, practising respectful online communication, and developing self-control and balance in technology use.
This work aligns closely with our strategic priority of forming students of strong character and discernment—young people who are not only knowledgeable but also wise and compassionate in how they engage with the world around them. As a College, we are committed to partnering with families in this important space.
Valuing Outdoor Learning and Community Experience
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the many staff who have supported our Year 4–6 camp programs this term. These overnight experiences are highly valued opportunities for our students to step outside their usual routines, build resilience, and deepen their friendships.
The success of these programs depends on the generosity and dedication of staff who give of their time beyond the school day, often sacrificing personal and family time. Their leadership and care ensure that our students not only enjoy these experiences but grow through them—developing independence, teamwork and confidence.
These experiences to Taronga Zoo, Bathurst and Canberra reflect our broader commitment to holistic education—where learning extends beyond the classroom and contributes to the development of the whole person.
As we near the end of the term, I remain deeply grateful for the strength of our community—our staff, students and families—who together make our College a place of encouragement, growth and shared purpose.
