Junior School

There has been plenty to celebrate in Junior School Sport this term, with our students producing outstanding performances across athletics, netball and basketball. Beyond the results, it has been wonderful to see our students competing with confidence, demonstrating resilience, and proudly representing our school wherever they go.

NSWCIS Athletics

One of the biggest highlights was the NSWCIS Athletics Championships, where Marcus, Lucas, Oliver and Mayson competed against some of the best young athletes from independent schools across New South Wales. To reach this level of competition is an incredible achievement in itself, and all four boys embraced the opportunity with determination and enthusiasm.

A special congratulations goes to Lucas, who delivered a truly remarkable performance. Lucas finished 1st in High Jump, 2nd in Long Jump, and 3rd in the 800m, showcasing not only his athletic ability but also his versatility across a range of events. Collectively, the boys helped secure 8th place overall in the Boys School Championships, an outstanding result against the strongest school athletes in the state.

IPSSO Netball

Our IPSSO Senior Girls Netball Team also enjoyed a memorable season, progressing all the way to the Grand Final. The girls played exceptional netball throughout the competition and entered the final full of confidence. In a thrilling match against St Gregory’s College, the team led for the first three quarters through relentless defence, teamwork and determination. Although the result slipped away in the final quarter, finishing as IPSSO Runners-Up is a tremendous achievement and one that the girls should be incredibly proud of. Their commitment, sportsmanship and support for one another were inspiring to watch throughout the season.

Zone Basketball

The excitement continued at the CSSA South-Met Zone Year 5/6 Basketball Gala Day, where both our boys and girls teams represented the school with great enthusiasm. The girls enjoyed an outstanding day on the court, combining strong teamwork, excellent ball movement and determination to finish as Gala Day Champions. Their positive attitude and willingness to encourage one another were on display throughout the tournament and played a significant role in their success.

As always, while trophies and medals are wonderful achievements, what makes us most proud is the way our students represent the school. Whether competing at a state championship, a grand final, or a gala day, they consistently demonstrate courage, humility, perseverance and respect.

Congratulations to all students involved in these events. Thank you also to our families, coaches and staff for the countless hours of encouragement and support. We look forward to seeing our Junior School athletes continue to grow, compete and achieve in the last few months ahead.

Secondary Sport Celebrates Outstanding Success

It has been a busy and exciting few weeks for Secondary Sport, with our students competing at state and representative level across athletics, OzTag and volleyball. More importantly, they have continued to demonstrate the character, resilience and sportsmanship that make our school community so proud.

CSSA State Athletics

A particular highlight was the CSSA Secondary State Athletics Championships, where our athletes produced a number of outstanding performances against some of the best competitors from Christian schools across New South Wales. Through their hard work, determination and commitment to training, 10 of our students qualified for the NSWCIS Athletics Championships. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the talent and dedication of our athletics program.

These students then went on to represent both our school and CSSA at the NSWCIS Athletics Championships, competing against the top independent school athletes from across the state. Simply reaching this level is an incredible accomplishment, and our athletes embraced the challenge with confidence and enthusiasm. Whether they achieved personal bests, made finals or gained valuable experience, every student should be proud of the way they represented our school.

CSSA Oztag

Our CSSA Secondary Open OzTag teams also enjoyed a successful State Gala Day campaign. The girls displayed exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the tournament, finishing second in their pool after a series of strong performances. The boys competed with great spirit and resilience, finishing fourth in their pool against quality opposition. Both teams represented the school with pride, encouraging one another and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.

All Schools Volleyball

Another exciting opportunity came through the All Schools Volleyball Championships, where our students tested themselves against teams from a variety of school systems and associations. The event provided a fantastic experience for our players, allowing them to develop their skills, build confidence and compete at a high level. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another and embracing every challenge on the court.

While results are always pleasing, what stands out most is the way our students continue to represent the school. Their commitment to training, willingness to compete, and encouragement of teammates reflect the values we seek to instil through sport.

Congratulations to every student who participated in these events, as well as the families who have supported them along the way. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing what they can accomplish throughout the remainder of the sporting year.
