Leading with Heart, Celebrating with Joy

As Term 3 unfolds, we are reminded of the vibrant spirit that defines our College community. From the induction of our new student leaders to the soaring sounds of Music Week and the anticipation of OPACvision, this season is rich with inspiration, creativity, and cultural pride.

Student Leadership: New Prefect Induction

In a world often marked by self-serving leadership, our College continues to champion a different path—one of integrity, compassion, and courage. On Wednesday, we witnessed a meaningful moment as the outgoing prefects passed the baton to a new team of servant-hearted leaders. These students have demonstrated a commitment to character and community, and we are proud to introduce them:

  • Leader of Learning: Jasmeen K
  • Leader of Christian Life: Ben P
  • Leader of Performing Arts: Carmel M
  • Leader of Community & Culture: Michelle N
  • Leader of Houses: Indiana W
  • Leader of Student Wellbeing: Vaageesh S
  • College Captains: Taleen M and Ben P

These young leaders embody the values we hold dear—humility, service, and a deep sense of responsibility. We look forward to the impact they will make in shaping the culture and direction of the College in the year ahead.

The Soaring Sound of OPAC

Music Week at OPAC was a joyful celebration of talent, collaboration, and opportunity. On Monday, the Senior Stage Band delivered a dynamic lunchtime performance outside H Block, drawing a crowd of students and staff who were treated to a lively showcase of musical excellence.

Wednesday’s lunchtime concert featured our Year 12 Music students, who performed pieces they’ve been preparing for their HSC exams. Their dedication and artistry were evident, and it was a privilege to witness their growth and confidence as performers.

Thursday brought an open rehearsal with the Senior Choir, inviting students to experience the warmth and camaraderie of singing together. No prior experience was needed—just a willingness to join in and have fun. The rehearsal included vocal warm-ups and group activities, and hopefully many students left feeling inspired to become part of the choir. It was a week that truly highlighted the power of music to unite and uplift.

OPACvision: A Celebration of Culture

As part of our upcoming Multicultural Day, Senior School will host the inaugural OPACvision—a showcase of student performances rooted in cultural heritage. Participants will share a piece of their culture through music, dance, or spoken word, followed by a brief reflection on its significance.

This event promises to be a rich, colourful, and vibrant celebration of the diversity within our College. It’s an opportunity for students to honour their backgrounds and educate others about the traditions that shape their identity. A few spots remain—please encourage your child to take part and share their story. OPACvision will be a highlight of the term and a testament to the beauty of our multicultural community.

God bless,

Mrs Grant is Presenting in a Free Parent Wellbeing Webinar

We’re pleased to share that Mrs Grant will be part of a webinar panel exploring the impact of sleep on student wellbeing, learning and emotional health.

Titled Sleep on It: The Missing Link in Student Wellbeing, this free 45-minute session will feature sleep scientists, educators and health professionals. Our very own Mrs G will be contributing insights from the classroom alongside other experts in the field.

Topics include:

  • Why sleep is essential for student focus, learning and mental health

  • An overview of Sleep Ninja® for the Classroom, a new program for Years 7–8

  • How parents and schools can work together to support better sleep routines

With 4 in 10 young people not getting enough rest, this is a valuable opportunity for parents and carers.
