Thriving Together: NAPLAN Success and Cultural Celebration
This week I’m delighted to share some truly outstanding news and celebrate the vibrant learning and community spirit that defines our College.
Celebrating Our 2025 NAPLAN Success
Our recently released NAPLAN results for both Junior and Senior School are a testament to the dedication of our students and the tireless efforts of our teaching staff.
In the Junior School, students across Years 3, and 5 performed above the national and state averages in all domains. Writing and Spelling emerged as particular strengths, with over 90% of Year 3 students achieving at or above the expected level in Writing, and nearly 80% in Spelling. Year 5 students continued this trend, with 83% achieving strongly in Writing and 84% in Reading.

In the Senior School, our Year 7 and Year 9 students also performed above the national average across all domains. Our Year 7 cohort showed impressive growth, especially in Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy, with a significant increase in students reaching the Exceeding band. Notably, Year 9 Writing results improved markedly, with 76% of students achieving in the Strong or Exceeding bands—up from 71% in 2023. Reading and Numeracy also showed consistent strength, and our targeted strategies in writing and grammar are clearly making a difference. These results reflect our commitment to both foundational skill development and high-end extension, and we are incredibly proud of every student’s effort and achievement.
Looking Ahead: Multicultural Expo & OPACVision
Next week, we turn our attention to one of the most anticipated events of the year—our Multicultural Expo!

In the Junior School, each grade has been exploring the culture of a different country through rich inquiry-based learning. Breakout spaces will be transformed into vibrant cultural showcases, offering students the opportunity to share their discoveries in language, food, traditions and history. Parents are encouraged to visit these displays from 12pm ahead of the picnic lunch.
Meanwhile, in the Senior School, the Student Representative Council (SRC) has taken the lead in curating a diverse array of cultural stalls. These will feature dance and cultural performances as well as displays that celebrate the rich tapestry of backgrounds that make up our student body.
We are excited to launch OPACVision, a competition for Senior School students to perform and share aspects of their cultural heritage through dance, music, poetry, or storytelling. OPACVision is a celebration of identity and belonging.
Thank you for your continued support. Whether we are celebrating academic achievement or cultural diversity, it is clear that our College is thriving because of the strength of our community.
God bless,
Mrs Naomi Wilkins
