Welcome to Term 3: A Season of Curiosity, Compassion, and Growth
As we begin Term 3, I hope the break has offered your family moments of rest, reflection, and renewal. For me, the holidays provided a remarkable opportunity to travel overseas to Norway and Iceland—two countries rich in natural beauty and wonder.
In Norway, I was captivated by the majestic fjord lands, where steep cliffs meet serene waters in a breathtaking display of nature’s artistry. In Iceland, I stood in awe of the island’s geological phenomena—from bubbling geothermal springs to vast lava fields and glaciers that whisper stories of the Earth’s ancient past. These landscapes stirred a deep sense of curiosity, reminding me of the power of asking questions, exploring the unknown, and marvelling at the world around us. They also inspired compassion, as I felt immense gratitude for the privilege of experiencing such beauty and for the people who care for these fragile environments.
These reflections connect beautifully with our Habits of Powerful Learners—especially Curiosity and Compassion. As we return to college, I encourage our students to embrace these habits: to wonder, to ask questions, to explore, and to be thankful for the opportunities and relationships that shape their learning.
Term 3 also brings with it valuable opportunities for feedback and partnership. The Semester 1 reports have provided insights into each student’s progress, and our recent parent-teacher interviews have strengthened the dialogue between home and college. These moments of feedback are vital—they help us celebrate growth, identify areas for support, and reaffirm our shared commitment to each child’s development.

I also invite all parents and carers to participate in our annual Parent Experience and Feedback Survey. Your voice helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve. It’s a chance to contribute to the ongoing shaping of our college community, and I thank you in advance for your thoughtful input.
Let’s journey into Term 3 with open minds, grateful hearts, and a shared commitment to nurturing powerful learners.
God bless,
Mrs Naomi Wilkins
