HSC Showcase Evening – A Celebration of Musical Talent
Our recent HSC Showcase Evening was an incredible celebration of the creativity and dedication of our Year 12 musicians. The night began in style with Tyler delivering a stunning rendition of Cry Me a River by Arthur Hamilton, beautifully supported by the Senior Stage Band.
The energy continued to rise when Gianna took to the stage, wowing the audience with an outstanding bass performance of Ace of Aces by the Fearless Flyers. All performances demonstrated not only technical brilliance but also the passion and commitment our students bring to their music.
A huge congratulations to the entire Year 12 Music 1 and Music 2 cohort, who have worked tirelessly throughout the year in preparation for their HSC performance programs; examined formally late this term. God’s blessings to you all.
Band Jam – A Day of Music and Collaboration
On Thursday Week 6, our school hosted the annual Band Jam, this year, bringing together talented junior school musicians from Oran Park and Thomas Hassall Anglican colleges for a full day of music-making. Students had the opportunity to perform new and familiar pieces under the guidance of our talented conductors who shared valuable insights and inspired all with their passion for music.
The day was filled with learning, laughter, and collaboration, as young musicians from these two schools worked together to create something truly special. The event concluded with a concert for family and friends and other students, which showcased the hard work and dedication of the bands. Each school’s performance was a great success, with every piece receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.
A big congratulations to all the students who attended and performed. Your commitment to music and willingness to share your talent made this event a memorable celebration of creativity and teamwork.
God bless,
Mr Tim Chavura
Head of Performing Arts
