Junior School – T2 W8 2025

Finishing Term 2 with Energy and Celebration

Although we are in the final weeks of Term 2, Junior School is still a busy place, with a lot happening right up until the last day of term.

The highlight of this week will undoubtedly be our school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Our talented cast and crew have worked so hard over the past months to bring the story to life with energy and passion. I know there will be many proud parents, grandparents and teachers in the audience this weekend. Musicals offer more than just entertainment—they provide incredible opportunities for students to build essential life skills. Through rehearsals and performances, students develop:

  • Confidence in speaking and performing in front of others
  • Teamwork by collaborating with peers on stage and behind the scenes
  • Time management and responsibility through regular practise
  • Creativity in expressing themselves through music, movement, and storytelling
  • Resilience by learning to overcome challenges and adapt during live performances

A big thank you to our staff, families, and volunteers who have helped make this show unforgettable!

Next week Junior School will celebrate National Science Week, with the opportunity for students to come to College dressed as a scientist, science shows for K-2, judging of the Curie projects and classroom-based science experiments. This year the theme is ‘Decoding the universe: exploring the unknown in nature’s hidden language’. Science Week is a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity and celebrate the wonders of our universe. We can’t wait to see our students (and teachers) dive into discovery.

Next week we are also having the Spelling Bee Showdown and our Recognition Awards Assembly.

As we head into the winter holidays, I hope we are all able to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.  Parent-teacher interviews for Junior School will be held in Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 3 and this will be an opportunity to discuss your child’s report with their classroom teacher. Reports will be sent home at the end of next week.

Colouring-In Competition Winners
Congratulations to the following students for their wonderful entries in our Joseph colouring-in competition! Their artwork will be proudly displayed in the MPH foyer during the musical performances. Prizes were awarded during morning assembly to celebrate their creativity.

A big thank you to our Parents and Friends Association for generously providing the prizes and supporting this fun opportunity for our students.

Term 2 has full of exciting events and experiences. Whether it was overnight camps, sporting carnivals, taster day, day camp, spelling triumphs, musical magic, or scientific exploration, each experience has helped our students grow and learn.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term ahead!

God bless,

Sport

As Term 2 comes to a close, we’d like to celebrate the incredible achievements and enthusiastic participation of our students in sport this term. From local gala days to CSSA competitions, our students have shown outstanding commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship across every event.

We’ve seen fantastic representation across a variety of sports, with many teams achieving great success and personal bests. It’s been a joy to watch our students grow in confidence, support one another, and proudly represent our school on and off the field.

Thank you to all the staff, students, and families who have helped make this such a successful term of sport. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights and what’s still to come!

Success at CSSA Gala Days

Over the past fortnight, our students have proudly represented our school at the CSSA Netball and Football Gala Days – and what an incredible effort it was!

At the CSSA Netball Gala Day, both of our school netball teams played with skill, determination, and great sportsmanship. Their hard work and teamwork paid off, with both teams coming away as overall winners in their divisions! It was fantastic to see their positive attitude on and off the court, and they should be very proud of their efforts.

In addition, our Senior Boys Soccer Team competed at the CSSA Football Gala Day, showing fantastic resilience and a strong team spirit throughout the day. The boys played exceptionally well, working together as a unit and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship in every game.

Congratulations to all the students who participated in these events. A big thank you to the staff and parents who helped make the day a success – whether it was through coaching, managing, or cheering from the sidelines. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Please note that both CSSA State Netball and Football Gala days will be Term 3, Week 3 Thursday 7th August. More information will come out early term 3.
