Building Leaders, Honouring Traditions, and Strengthening Friendships
TASC Young Leaders’ Day 2025
Our Junior School recently had the privilege of hosting a Leadership Day run by Unleashing Personal Potential (UPP). The theme of the day, “Leading from the Front,” was designed to empower our young students with essential leadership skills and inspire them to take initiative in their daily lives as they serve humbly in their roles.
We welcomed 188 students from other TASC Schools (Anglican Corporation Schools) and the day was a great success. During the day, our students got to explore what it means to be a great leader through a variety of engaging physical activities, inspiring illustrations and practical tasks. They also had time to plan projects that they would like to undertake throughout the Junior School and we will be working on these over the coming weeks to see them come to fruition.
We had an awesome day and really enjoyed the energy and passion that Matt and Meg from UPP brought our training day.
ANZAC Ceremony
The Junior School was able to commemorate ANZAC Day on Thursday morning, 1st May, with a special service outside on the grass in front of our flagpole. This was a time of reflection and reverence for our students in honour of the memory of our ANZACs. Our students were respectful and were able to reflect on why our flag is lowered to half-mast for this special ceremony.
URSTRONG – Friendology
This term we are continuing with our ‘Friendology’ program which is promoting positive friendships and developing within our students the understanding and skills required to build positive friendships. This term, our students will continue to learn the following:

No friendship is perfect

Every friendship is different

Trust and respect are the two most important qualities of a friendship

AND friendships change …. And that’s ok.
When our students know what to expect in a friendship they feel prepared and equipped to manage themselves in a positive way.

Friend-O-Meter
Students reflect on how they feel in a moment with a friend using the friend-o-meter and identify ‘must have’ qualities in a healthy, feel-good friendship.

Friendship Fires
Students go step-by-step how to resolve conflict with a friend and respond to both a positive and negative reaction. They also give a genuine apology.
God bless,
