Our Story

Oran Park Anglican College is an inclusive Prep to Year 12, co-educational Anglican College in the heart of a thriving community.

Oran Park Anglican College aims to create powerful learners through the explicit teaching of key knowledge and skills to develop a lifelong love of learning. Our Christian faith is the motivation to pursue excellence and wisdom within a safe environment that values positive relationships and service.

Your child’s progress is measured not only by academic success, but also by character, relationships and preparation for a life of learning beyond school.

OPAC is a vibrant learning community
where students receive a life-changing,
caring, quality Christian education.

Our Vision and Mission

We strive to be a vibrant learning community that impacts every member for Jesus, through life-changing, caring, quality Christian education.

We do this by growing a strong and sustainable College community that nurtures Christ-shaped values of courage, curiosity, craftsmanship, collaboration and compassion.

We aim to support all Oran Park Anglican College students to graduate as robust and resilient young adults who are confident in their abilities, equipped and empowered for a life after school.

Your child deserves an education that will challenge them academically as well as develop their character and emotional intelligence. The OPAC Difference means each student is an individual — not a number — and is “of greater worth than gold”.

Our Values

At the heart of the College are five values that reflect our Christian beliefs and commitment to providing meaningful and personal learning experiences for every student.

  • Courage – To develop strength of character, resilience and determination. To stand up for what is right, respond to the needs of others and make a positive, purposeful contribution to the world.
  • Curiosity – Encouraging students to develop a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
  • Craftsmanship – To take pride in producing work of high standards, requiring determination, carefulness, thoughtfulness and the willingness to reflect and improve on mistakes.
  • Collaboration – Working as a team to achieve a common purpose, while communicating with respect, trust and honesty.
  • Compassion – An expression of our shared humanity and a desire to care for others through understanding, kindness and generosity.

Our Motto

The OPAC motto takes inspiration from 1 Peter 1:6-7 which says “In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

This verse highlights that faith in Jesus is both precious and enduring, outlasting the temporary nature of the world and hardships. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of standing firm in the face of adversity, knowing that challenges serve a purpose in shaping character. In addition to this, we want our motto to also empower our community with the knowledge that their worth surpasses even the purest gold.

Our History

Oran Park Anglican College was established in 2012, as a campus of Thomas Hassall Anglican College, with 53 students from Prep to Year 5.

Strategically located in the centre of a thriving town, the College became an independent school in 2017 and now caters to over 1000 students. Our masterplan has a vision for engaging with the community and providing modern facilities suitable for 21st century teaching and learning.

Our current students and staff are the pioneers in developing a dynamic school that engages with the community by offering a Christian education in a positive, safe and innovative learning environment.
