Learning to Learn, Learning to Care
Term 3 is filled with special events that bring students, teachers and families together in celebration.
100 Days of Kindergarten
Last week our Kindergarten students reached a joyful milestone – 100 days of learning! The day was filled with themed activities that celebrated their growth, from counting collections to dressing up as 100-year-olds. It was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the confidence, independence, and friendships that have blossomed since the beginning of the year.
Improving How We do Feedback
Recently, our Junior School teachers spent time reflecting on how we give and receive feedback. As educators, we know that feedback is one of the most powerful tools for improvement. We want to model effective feedback, create safe spaces for dialogue, and support students in developing the language and mindset needed to use feedback constructively. We want our students to learn how to receive feedback with openness and curiosity. By explicitly teaching these skills, our aim is to empower students to become more confident, resilient, and reflective learners—able to take ownership of their growth and support the learning of others.
Upcoming Events
In the next couple of weeks we look forward to celebrating Multicultural Expo and our Compassion Chapel. We are committed to sponsoring children through Compassion, a global organisation dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Through our sponsorship, we help provide access to education, healthcare, nutritious food, and emotional support for children living in vulnerable communities overseas. Compassion works closely with local churches to ensure that each child is known, loved, and protected. By learning about the lives of our sponsored children and writing letters to them, our students are developing empathy, gratitude, and a deeper understanding of global citizenship. It’s a powerful way for our school community to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
God bless,
Mrs Jenny Squire

Sport
It has been a huge few weeks of sport for our students, with teams and individuals representing our school proudly at a number of major CSSA events. From athletics on the track, to netball courts, and football fields – our students have shown skill, sportsmanship, and determination. Here’s a look at some of the highlights.
CSSA Zone Athletics Carnival – A Day of Success!
Last week, our Primary Athletics Team travelled to the Campbelltown Athletics Track for the CSSA Zone Athletics Carnival and delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 3rd overall for the day! Our students showed incredible determination, and sportsmanship throughout every event.
A special congratulations goes to Lucas V, who made history by breaking the 1500m record for the 8–10 Boys – an amazing achievement that reflects his hard work and dedication.
We are proud to announce that a number of our athletes have now qualified to compete at the CSSA State Athletics Carnival in Blacktown on Thursday 22 August. We wish them all the best as they prepare to represent our College at the next level.
Well done to all our athletes for their efforts and thank you to the staff and parents who supported the team on the day.
CSSA State Netball Carnival
Our netball teams travelled to Jamison Park, Penrith for the CSSA State Netball Carnival and saw some fantastic results.
Our Junior Girls Team were outstanding, winning their pool and making it through to the quarter finals – an impressive effort and a testament to their skill and teamwork.
Our Senior Girls Team also enjoyed a fantastic day of netball, playing with great energy, determination, and sportsmanship across all their matches.
Congratulations to both teams for representing our school so well on and off the court!
CSSA State Football Gala Day
Following their victory at the Zone Carnival, our Senior Boys Football Team competed at the CSSA State Football Gala Day. The boys performed exceptionally, finishing second in their pool before winning a thrilling semi-final in a penalty shootout to progress to the grand final.
Over the course of the day, the team played five matches, displaying great skill, teamwork, and determination. In the grand final, they faced a very strong opponent and, despite a valiant effort, went down 2–0.
This was an outstanding achievement, and we are incredibly proud of the way the boys represented our school both on and off the field.

If you would like the College to nominate your child for one of these events, please follow the procedure below:
- Go to CSSA website to see the list and dates of these trials (cssa.net.au)
- Email me (swright@opac.nsw.edu.au), expressing your child’s interest, background and skills in the sport
- If they fit the requirements of the trials, I will nominate them to attend
- Attend the trials with your child
