A Heartfelt Celebration of Compassion in Action
On Friday 29 August, our Junior School held a special Compassion Concert for our chapel featuring Ben Pakula. With his vibrant energy and engaging songs, Ben captivated our students through a series of powerful songs that not only entertained and inspired but pointed our hearts and minds to reflect on the living saviour Jesus Christ.
Throughout the concert, Ben shared stories about the impact Compassion has in helping children be released from poverty while providing them with an education and their daily needs. They also get an opportunity to hear about the good news of Jesus and how he loves and cares for them. His words brought to life the real-world difference our generosity makes, and it was deeply moving to see our students connect with the stories of those they are helping.
Mrs Gillies also guiding students through a geographical journey to discover where each of our sponsored children live. Using maps and visuals, she helped students understand the global reach of our compassion—from countries across Africa, Asia, and South America—all the way from our own corner of the world.
We are incredibly grateful to our College families for their generosity and servant-heartedness. Through donations collected after the morning assembly, we raised $1350 for Compassion—a testament to the kindness and commitment of our community. Every dollar will go toward changing lives and offering hope to children who need it most.
At the heart of this event was our desire to nurture servant-hearted students who reflect the compassion of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Compassion and to seeing our students grow in empathy, generosity, and global awareness. Thank you again to all who contributed, attended, and supported our first Compassion Concert. May we continue to be a community marked by compassion, service, and Christ-like love.
God bless,
