Every student who graduates from Oran Park Anglican College has a different destination in mind. While their pathways differ, they leave with something significant in common: the confidence, character and values to embrace what comes next.

Meet three members of the Class of 2026 whose aspirations reflect the many pathways that begin at OPAC.

Pathway: Law

A passion for justice

Taleen

“I hope to one day help people access justice.”

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to help people, which is why I hope to study Law after school while gaining practical experience through an internship. My goal is to build a career where I can help improve access to justice for those who need it most.

My passion for law has grown through OPAC's Legal Studies classes. Thoughtful discussions and respectful debates have challenged me to think critically, communicate with confidence and consider different perspectives.

Serving as College Captain has also been one of the most valuable experiences of my time at OPAC. It has strengthened my public speaking skills, taught me how to balance responsibility and shown me that genuine leadership begins with serving others. Watching my teachers consistently go above and beyond for their students has been a powerful example of what that looks like.

More than anything, OPAC has strengthened my faith. Supported by my teachers and friends, I've learned to trust God's plan while building the resilience, character and confidence that I know will guide me well in every season of my life.

Pathway: Physiotherapy and Sport

Serving others through wellbeing

Ben

“I've always loved sport, but I also find great satisfaction in helping others.”

When I finish school, I plan to pursue a career in Physiotherapy. Before that, I'll be taking a Year 13 gap year to grow in my faith. My dream is to one day work as a physio for a professional sporting team in Australia while also coaching football.

I've always loved sport and wanted to work in that environment, but I also find real satisfaction in helping others. Physiotherapy brings those passions together, combining sport, my interest in how the body works and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

Looking back, I think OPAC has prepared me in three significant ways. It has taught me the importance of a strong work ethic, shown me the value of lasting relationships and, most importantly, helped me deepen my relationship with Jesus. My faith gives me perspective and shapes the way I approach life.

Some of the most rewarding experiences during my time at OPAC came through serving others. Year 10 Service Week, visits to Barry Marsh House and volunteering at a foster care camp strengthened my desire to combine my love of sport with helping others.

Pathway: Psychology and Music

Compassion in action

Carmel

“I want to make a meaningful and lasting difference in people's lives.”

After school, I hope to study a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), with the long-term goal of becoming a clinical psychologist. I am drawn to this career because it provides the opportunity to make a lasting difference in people's lives by combining scientific understanding with compassionate care. Alongside my studies, I also hope to continue exploring opportunities in music through performance and community involvement.

OPAC has equipped me with a wide range of skills and experiences that have prepared me for life beyond school. Through opportunities in the Creative and Performing Arts, including showcases, musicals, band tours and OPAC's Got Talent, I have developed my confidence, creativity, teamwork and performance skills. These experiences have also inspired me to continue developing my passion for music beyond school.

The College's teachers have encouraged and challenged me to develop resilience, perseverance and a strong work ethic, while its Christian foundation has strengthened my faith and given me values and principles that I know will continue to guide me throughout life. Service opportunities, including partnerships with Turning Point Camden and service trips to Vietnam, Temora and Mudgee, have also taught me the importance of serving others with empathy, humility and compassion.

Collectively, these experiences have shaped both my personal and professional aspirations, fostering a passion for leadership, service, music and lifelong learning that I hope to continue embracing beyond my time at OPAC.

More than an education

Every OPAC graduate leaves with their own ambitions, talents and aspirations. Whatever their future holds, they share a common foundation built on academic rigour, Christian faith, meaningful relationships and opportunities to grow beyond the classroom.
