Finishing Well with Wisdom
Welcome back to the final term of the year. Term 4 is always a special season—one of reflection, celebration, and a collective sense of finishing well. Over the coming weeks, our focus will be on summative assessments, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and the habits of powerful learners they have been cultivating—curiosity, persistence, thoughtful reflection, and responsible collaboration. These assessments are a chance for students to consolidate their understanding and take pride in how far they have come.
Pursuing Wisdom in Every Lesson
As we support students to finish strongly, we are guided by the wisdom of Scripture:
“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”
Proverbs 4:7
This reminder beautifully captures the heart of education—pursuing understanding with diligence and consistency. One of the most practical ways families can help children grow in wisdom is through regular attendance. Each day at school builds on the last; when students are withdrawn during term time, even for a short holiday, it can create gaps in their learning and lead to stress as they try to catch up. This can affect their confidence and self‑esteem, both of which are vital to their wellbeing and progress.
We deeply value family time and recognise the importance of holidays for rest and connection. To protect your child’s learning and sense of continuity, we ask that family holidays be planned for school holiday periods wherever possible. While taking leave during term time may be convenient for parents’ work schedules, it is not a wise choice for your child’s learning journey. Consistent attendance helps maintain momentum, fosters stability, and enables students to approach assessments with assurance rather than anxiety.
Year 12 currently sitting HSC exams
A special note for our Year 12s: As our graduating students commence their HSC examinations, we hold them in our prayers and encouragement. These exams are, in many ways, the ultimate summative task of their school journey—a moment to draw together years of learning, growth and character. We know they will do their best. Please join us in praying for calm minds, steady routines, good health, and a deep sense of perspective and hope during this season. Our staff remain committed to supporting Year 12 with practical guidance and pastoral care as they navigate these final steps.
Thank you for partnering with us to make Term 4 a rewarding conclusion to the year. With your support—and guided by the pursuit of wisdom—our students can finish well and celebrate all they have achieved.
God bless,
Mrs Naomi Wilkins
