Thanksgiving Service Showcases Musical Excellence and Community Spirit
On Friday, 30 May, the school community gathered for a deeply meaningful Thanksgiving Service, distinguished by a rich musical program that reflected both the talent of our students and the spirit of unity within our College.
Approximately 100 students contributed to the musical elements of the service, offering performances that were both technically accomplished and spiritually uplifting.
The Senior Concert Band presented Wind Power by Robert Buckley, a dynamic and expressive piece that highlighted the ensemble’s musical maturity and attention to detail. Their performance was a testament to the students’ hard work and commitment throughout the term.
A particularly significant moment in the service was the combined performance of The Lord Will Provide. This worship song was led by the Senior Concert Band in collaboration with the Senior Worship Band, Stage 3 Choir, and Senior School Choir. Together, they led played with a powerful and moving atmosphere of praise, drawing the entire congregation into a shared moment of worship of our faithful God.
Another memorable contribution came from six students who sang the College Prayer—a piece featuring lyrics written by College Chair Mr Stuart Starr and music composed by Mr Tim Chavura. Their heartfelt and reverent performance added a thoughtful and reflective tone to the occasion.
The College community takes great pride in all the students who participated. Their preparation, discipline, and passion for music and worship were evident in every aspect of their performances.
I extend my sincere thanks to Mr Miller, Mrs Kiefer, Mrs Lane and all ensemble members for their steadfast dedication to and their faithful service to the College. The guidance and support of these three teachers continue to enrich the musical life of our school.
The 2025 Thanksgiving Service was a memorable celebration of gratitude, faith, and community—one that will be fondly remembered by all who attended.
