TASC Young Leaders’ Day - Leading from the Front
On Friday 24 April, student leaders from ten schools across the Anglican Schools Corporation came together for a dynamic and inspiring leadership event facilitated by Unleashing Personal Potential. The day formed part of the Leading from the Front course and provided a powerful opportunity for students to learn, connect and grow as leaders alongside peers from across our wider Anglican school community.
From the moment the day began, the atmosphere was energetic and engaging. Rather than sitting and listening, students were immersed in a series of fun, fast‑paced activities designed to get them thinking, moving and most importantly, reflecting on what effective leadership really looks like. Working collaboratively with students from other schools, participants were challenged to step outside their comfort zones, communicate clearly and support one another to achieve shared goals.
Throughout the day, our presenter Matt from Unleashing Personal Potential shared personal stories from their own leadership journeys. These stories brought the concepts to life and highlighted that leadership is not about position or popularity, but about character, mindset and the choices we make every day. Students learned that great leaders act with integrity, courage and compassion and are willing to take responsibility—even when it is difficult.
Key leadership skills explored during the course included confidence, resilience, teamwork, effective communication and leading with purpose. Through a variety of hands‑on activities and reflective discussions, students gained a deeper understanding of how their attitudes and behaviours can positively influence others.
Perhaps one of the most valuable aspects of the event was the opportunity for our students to spend some time to plan for some events they would like to run to help raise awareness for an issue. Our students spent some time beginning to plan for some events that will raise awareness and funds for our Compassion children that we sponsor.
The Leading from the Front leadership day was an enriching and memorable experience for all involved. Students left feeling motivated, empowered and equipped with practical strategies they can apply in their leadership roles. We thank Unleashing Personal Potential for providing such a meaningful opportunity to grow the next generation of confident, compassionate and purpose‑driven leaders.
